In philosophy, any general perspective on, or philosophical account of, the meaning or purpose of life or how it should be lived is called the philosophy of life. A personal philosophy that aims to answer basic existential questions rather than one that presents itself as an academic philosophical endeavor is typically used in an informal sense.

“The unexamined life is not worth living” — Socrates.

The Situation in Human Society:

Throughout human history, it appears that existence and essence have been at odds.

Standard situations — Alternatives, Choice, Freedom, Values, Standards, Ideals, Obligation, Responsibility

Experiential predicament — Finitude, Alienation, Anxiety, Guilt, Ambivalence, Thrownness

“Life has no remote, get up and change it yourself!” — Mark A. Cooper

Peaceful Life Philosophies:

A happy life is a choice.

You should be yourself.

Live a guilt-free life.

All things must pass.

Forgiveness.

You don’t need to worry.

Face your fears.

You should respect your time.

“Life is short. Focus on what really matters most. You have to change your priorities over time.”― Roy T. Bennett
